Covid-19 Update
So far as a small business owner I feel that we have been very lucky in WA avoiding many of the long lockdowns that our Eastern state friends have seen. With Omicron within our community and borders opening soon I have like many other small business owners been working out the way forward. I have also had questions from clients about sessions for 2022 and how it may or may not affect them. I thought it was important to do an update on what steps we will be taking from here on in.
These steps will not only be to protect our clients and team members alike but to hopefully avoid potential isolation scenarios where possible. I also understand that some clients may be considered high risk or concerned so I am hoping this will put your mind at ease.
I am hoping by implementing these rules we can avoid as many disruptions to sessions as possible and also make sure that our clients feel confident to come into the studio knowing that we as a business are following the latest health advice.
We are all expecting 2022 to come with some challenges and we understand how stressful that prospect can be. We know that at some stage we will all be affected in some way so I am hoping by implementing these precautions and studio rules it will limit potential issues that may arise and also make you feel confident that you know what to expect in the case that your session is affected.
What if I book and have to isolate or I get sick? Or team members are sick/isolating? What happens with my session?
If a client gets sick or has to isolate they will be moved to the next available date possible. I limit the amount of sessions I do each week but even more so for the first 6 months of 2022. This is to ensure that we will always have dates available within a reasonable timeframe to avoid lengthy rescheduling of dates.
This will be the case if the we have to reschedule. Which will be our worst case scenario as we do have backup team members that we will call on if needed and if they are available.
For those needing their orders for a special date or event such as a wedding we will be are recommending clients book an earlier date for their session. This is to ensure that if disruptions do occur we will have a little time up our sleeve to reschedule and still allow orders to arrive in time. We usually recommend 6 weeks as a turnaround time however I say the earlier the better for 2022 sessions. Clients already booked in for later in the year do have the option to bring their date forward.
Do I have to be fully vaccinated to have a session?
Currently clients and team members are not mandated to be vaccinated - so currently no, clients do not have to be vaccinated. You will be required to follow all studio rules.
I am considered high risk (or a loved one), will I be safe?
Obviously there will always be a risk when in the community however we will be taking all possible precautions within sessions by implementing studio rules. As your photographer I am personally vaccinated, I also have close loved ones who are considered high risk so understand your concern. If you are worried in any way please let me know, I will work with clients to do everything to make them feel as comfortable as possible.
Extra Steps We Are Taking
One Client per day - This also allows plenty or time for a full deep clean between clients. This hasn’t actually changed as this is what I have always done. The only time we will have more than one is for Teaser sessions but during the peak of what is to come, I have no plans to hold any further Teaser sessions until things settle of course after our planned February sessions.
We will be limiting team members and where possible as long as it does not affect the quality of your session meaning that for some sessions we may have one person doing a few different jobs such as our assistant doing hair or our makeup artist assisting. Lucky our team members are multi talented ;) Again, all team members will be wearing a mask throughout your session as per studio rules.

I really hope to see you in front of my camera sometime this year! Dates are now open right through to the end of September so it is a great time to get planning and book a date in.
